Alexander Warth

Alexander calls himself somehow a ‘legal alien’ in the IDL: As a product designer a curiosity about what design research is going to be in the future brought him to start working in the field of interaction design. What he brings along is his deep interest for user centric approaches and the idea that designing things is a question of context.

Alexander recieved a diploma in product design and additionally did many projects in the field of industrial design, especially in producing machinery. Additionally, as an alumnus of the ‘school of design thinking’ at the University of Potsdam, he can call himself one of the first ‘Desein Sinker Deutschlands’.

Before his designing life started he worked as a carpenter and model maker.

At the IDL he is working as a member of the scientific staff in the research project ‘EcoViz’, mainly evaluating in-house designed products.
